One A Day 117:365 Composition with dried banksia leaves bamboo stalk and copper wire.

117:365 Composition with dried banksia leaves bamboo stalk and copper wire. This one involved a bit of a skip dive as my friend Sue calls it. Skip diving being one of her favourite things to do. Im a bit partial to a rummage myself, it has to be said. You can find all sorts of treasure to recycle in a skip.

Love your trees Bowral.

Love your trees Bowral.

And there I was on my way out of town with the remains of my stock picked up from a recent exhibition and I’m stopped at the side of the road to drink my cup of tea and slice of cake to fortify me for the journey home, when I get a call from Kelly at MtnsMade calling to see if I had any evocative images of the things I make for a last minute proposal she is putting together and I’m able to whip out these bags from the boot do a bit of a photo shoot in the lovely autumn leaves and send her the pics there and then. Synchronicity –  I bloody love it.

One A Day 115:365 Composition with a mushroom ring and camellia blossom.

115:365 Composition with a mushroom ring and camellia blossom. A shortish walk to my car in Coogee this morning and I found this ring of mushrooms and a camilia bush dropping its buds all over the lawn of the Coogee Bowling club. Isn't it a bit too early for camillias? And who thought there would be mushrooms so close to the beach. Never seen that before or maybe I just haven't been looking until now.

One A Day 111:365 Composition with cardboard box and bromeliad.

111:365 Composition with cardboard box and bromeliad. I must admit that on account of feeling quite poorly I haven't gone too far for this one - just a walk around the garden ( it's reasonably big 1/2 acre so I reckon that's ok) This tough old bromeliad was left behind from the previous owners and was well past its prime so I pulled one of the fading flower spikes apart bit by bit in order on the cardboard and now I'm going in for a lie down.

One A Day 110:365 Composition with dried rhododendron clippings and a pile of dirt.

110:365 Composition with dried rhododendron clippings and a pile of dirt. Being a busy house work kind of Saturday combined with feeling a little like I'm coming down with something I left it a bit late for getting out to do todays creating. And now the storm clouds are gathering and the sky is getting rather dark and ominous. Luckily this pile of dirt was receptive to my urgent work before I get soaked through.

One A Day 109:365 Composition with three dead proteas and one broken chair.

109:365 Composition with three dead proteas and one broken chair. This piece is for Prince. A purple tinged paisley shape using the remaining proteas I foraged from yesterday's composition that was also honoring the recently dead. What a strange sad year it has started to become. So much death of many people who I hold as significant influences in my life. Vale Prince. Another sad day.

One A Day 108:365 Composition with dead protea petals and scorched wooden tabletop.

108:365 Composition with dead protea petals and scorched wooden tabletop. Oh this one came together nicely I must say. A few protea flower heads were knocking around the verge outside a house down the road and this square of table top was in the hedge close by. Maybe someone had left the candles to burn too long? Who knows but I love how the petals look like they're burnt at the ends too. They're not though, its just a smattering of rusty colored pollen. I like this one a lot.
