These banksias are subtle and strong and sculptural, camouflaged against the side of the road after a downpour on my morning walk.
And then in the afternoon came along a second version. A composition with deconstructed pine cone flakes.
This is what happens sometimes – You get an even better #oneaday than the one posted earlier. I was in Lawson at Diana’s house picking up some of my artwork and materials that she had stored for me for sometime. I noticed the lovely and unusual pine tree in her garden with bits of pine cone scattered everywhere – from the cockatoos probably looking for the seeds.
The pine cone shapes looked a bit like a Victorian wallpaper motif, a fleur de lys almost, so I made a pattern and left it behind to say I’d dropped in.
