What a great day we had.
The very first LookDrawPrint workshop went off with a bang.
It was my first workshop of this kind and I was sort of working it out as I went along. Some might even say winging it, at times.
But it all went swimmingly. 16 people turned up all with have-a-go attitudes and the atmosphere in the room was great. The amount and quality of work people produced as a result was impressive. It really was.
Sadly my camera was playing up so I only caught a tiny amount of the day but, still, you get the picture.
Im really looking forward to developing these workshops further. Ive got a feeling in my water that this is what I’m meant to be doing now.
So well done all of you lot for working with me and working so well.
I think we all had a ball.
To follow for the next workshop dates follow me on instagram. It’s where I post the most.
I reckon that most people yearn to be at least a little bit creative but often stop themselves having a go.
Ive been talking and thinking about this for ages and finally I’ve decided to develop a workshop that helps people to get on their creative way. I believe it’s all about embracing the idea of imperfection and leaving room for mistakes to happen.
LookDrawPrint is an imperfect workshop for the creatively curious and is based on the things I’ve learned over the 20 years of my own design practice. I’ve found that it helps to slow down, be mindful and compassionate to ourselves and most of all to enjoy the process rather than the focussing on the outcome.
The very first workshop – the prototype one – unfolds at the State Library and is sold out. ( Nice work State Library) What a nice way to begin.
I’ll be hanging in Prahran tomorrow and Thursday then heading home again. Come and have a cuppa with me if you’re free. Go on. I’d love to meet. Let me know you’re coming and I’ll get the kettle on. Xx
Usually I do this print in Aqua and indigo. My client wanted rusty and I’m happy to oblige.
